IIM-EAST CAMPUS,
KOZHIKODE

Urban Architecture Works

The lush green site of the Indian Institute of Management, on the outskirts of Kozhikode has two steep hills, the highest in the area and with the most fantastic views in all directions, with paddy fields stretching out from the foot of one of them.

The design of the campus was dictated by the topography, climate and local traditions and of course, the spectacular views. The client has acquired an additional 15 acres of land to build facilities for nearly 400 students including hostels, classrooms, dining hall, faculty residences etc. The extension of the campus is designed around an artificial rain water harvesting lake into which all the stormwater from the campus is directed.

The new campus designed on the same principals as the original campus has been awarded "Five Star" Griha rating. The buildings are designed and oriented to maximize view of the surroundings hill and lake.
